Dancing Hand, Dancing Foot

Purpose

Dancing Hand, Dancing Foot introduces the student to the five basic stances, the four basic blocks, and the reverse punch. The five basic stances are horse stance, forward stance, rear stance, cat stance, and twist stance. The four basic blocks are down, out, in, and up. When moving between stances, the student should work to move the feet near the floor in smooth crescent/circular movements while minimizing the movement of the upper body.
1. Bow.
  
 2. Step right to horse-stance and hands on hips.
 3. Right step back to left forward-stance.
 4. Right step forward return to horse-stance.
 5. Left step back to right forward-stance.
 6. Left step forward return to horse-stance.
 7. Right step forward to right forward-stance.
 8. Right step back return to horse-stance.
 9. Left step forward to left forward-stance.
10. Left step back return to horse-stance.
11. Face rightside rear stance.
12. Right back to left ankle cat stance.
13. Right foot behind left twist stance.
14. Right knee up to "cocked" position and back to horse-stance.  
15. Face leftside rear stance.
16. Left foot back to right ankle cat stance.
17. Left foot behind right twist stance.
18. Left knee up to "cocked" position and back to horse-stance.  
19. Right down-block cover and right down-block  
20. Left down-block cover and left down-block.
 
21. Right out-block cover and right out-block.
 
22. Left out-block cover and left out-block.
 
23. Right in-block cover and right in-block.
 
24. Left in-block cover and left in-block.
 
25. Right up-block cover and right up-block.
 
26. Left up-block cover and left up-block.
 
27. Right punch to solarplex, left punch to solarplex. Kia!
 
28. Right step back to left forward-stance, left down-block cover, and left down-block.
 
29. Left out-block cover and left out-block.
 
30. Left in-block cover and left in-block.
 
31. Left up-block cover and left up-block.
 
32. Right punch to solarplex. Kia!
33. Three-point return and bow.
