Shichi Kyu (Orange Belt) Kata Review
Purpose
Form Two introduces the chop, spear hand, roundhouse punch, double sword block, backfist, upper-cut punch, side kick, crescent kick, and the rear thrust kick.
- Bow.

- Right step to the side for right-side forward stance and down-block right with out-block left.

- Bring left foot over to left side forward stance with left hand chop-block and right hand supine.

- Left leg cocked then left open hand to hammerfist block to the outside.

- Cover and side-kick left and step down to horse stance.

- Down-block left, then out-block left and reverse punch (right) to solarplex. Kia!

- Right leg cocked then right open hand to hammerfist block to the outside.

- Cover and side-kick right and step down to horse stance.

- Down-block right, then out-block right and reverse punch (left) to solarplex. Kia!

- Left step out to rear stance and double chop left then left backfist to face and grab neck.

- Right upper-cut punch and right chop to neck.

- Left elbow face and left chop to neck.

- Right crescent kick and right elbow to face.

- Cross block and left backkick returning left to left forward stance and left blocking chop with right supine.

- Right step to right forward stance and right block chop with left supine.

- Left step forward to cat stanch, cross cover left on top.

- Left side step to horse stance and single chop left. Right hand supine at side. Kia!

- Right side step up to cat stance, cross cover right on top.

- Right side step to horse stance and single chop right. Left hand supine at side. Kia!

- Left side step to cat stance, left hand supine in front over right hand. Step to left side forward stance and double chop left.

- Right step to right side cat stance then forward stance and double chop right.

- Left step back and pivot 180 to left side forward stance and right hook to solar plexus.

- Right step to right side forward stance while delivering left hook to solar plexus.

Right step to cat stance, right hand supine above left, step into right rear stance while stabbing low to right, left supine in front.

- Left step forward and left spear to groin, right hand supine at side.

- Right step to twist stance then left step sideways and left backfist to face.

- Right step back and pivot 180 on left to deliver right elbow to face while covering under arm. Kia! (Should now be in horse stance)

- Three-point return and bow.
